OVER THE WEATHER

For the month of June, I’d like to share a poem by one of my favorite poets, Naomi Shihab Nye. Her reminder in OVER THE WEATHER is just what I need to read, again and again, on these days when the cliff of despair feels so threateningly close.
I hope you both enjoy and take her words to heart as a reminder that hope is still possible, ever constant in the sky and clouds above us.

OVER THE WEATHER
We forget about the spaciousnessabove the cloudsbut it's up there. The sun's up there too. When words we hear don't fit the day, when we worrywhat we did or didn't do,what if we close our eyes, say any word we lovethat makes us feel calm, slip it into the atmosphereand rise?Creamy miles of quiet.Giant swoop of blue.
